Leadership Alert: You’ve Developed High Skill Set Demands, But Can You Keep Your Best People?

Although many studies have shown overall improvements in job satisfaction throughout the last 10 years, the Conference Board, an executive membership organization that conducts research and analysis, continues to reveal declines in many areas of job satisfaction across all professions since 1995. As recently as 2003 (the most recent analysis available), a nearly 40 percent voluntary turnover rate by employees exists. The majority of those surveyed indicated that they were likely to leave their current employer in the next year because of job dissatisfaction.
